Lingering Look at Architecture – August: Schools

School in Castle Acre, Norfolk

My final offering in this month’s school theme is yet another building from the Victorian age. In the centre of this historic and sought-after conservation village it used to be a primary school with separate entrances and playgrounds for the boys and girls. The building is close to the ancient Bailey Gate which marks the entrance to the centre of the tree-lined village.

It is no longer used as a school and in fact it has just gone under offer, sadly, as if it had still been for sale I would have been sorely tempted to buy it myself as it could make a wonderful home in a very nice village.

If you are keen on architecture then you might like to join in with this new monthly challenge from Dawn.
